Hurricanes coach Rod Brind’Amour has no question Bruins ahead David Pastrnak deliberately hit Carolina goalie Antti Raanta, the former Ranger who left bloodied in the initially period of time Wednesday night and didn’t return to his team’s 5-2 victory.
“What do you assume? It simply cannot get a lot more evident,” Brind’Amour, whose crew retains a 2- sequence guide, mentioned when asked if he felt Raanta was targeted.
Pastrnak hit Raanta in the head, and the goaltender had blood in his mouth as a result. Pastrnak received a two-minute interference penalty. Bruins mentor Bruce Cassidy predictably did not consider Pastrnak did nearly anything egregious, telling reporters Pastrnak’s foot caught Raanta’s pad.
Boston didn’t come out of the game unscathed, although, as defenseman Hampus Lindholm left with an higher-human body injury immediately after a big hit by Andrei Svechnikov. Cassidy explained Lindholm is “not doing perfectly.”
The series could get even a lot more chippy as the Bruins get determined to climb out of an -2 hole, with Recreation 3 in Boston set for Friday.
