Liam Hendriks has mentioned earlier that he didn’t get together with Josh Donaldson when they ended up teammates in Toronto.
The existing White Sox closer lit into the Yankees third baseman Sunday about Donaldson referring to Chicago shortstop Tim Anderson as “Jackie” throughout Saturday’s match at the Stadium.
Donaldson stated he was earning a joke about Anderson dubbing himself “today’s Jackie Robinson” in a 2019 Sporting activities Illustrated tale, but Anderson took offense to the jab and Chicago supervisor Tony La Russa referred to as it a “racist” comment.
“Completely inappropriate,” Hendriks said about Donaldson’s words and phrases. “And then right after hearing what was claimed after the game, ordinarily you have inside of jokes with folks you get together with, not individuals that never get alongside at all. So that statement right there was total bulls–t.”
Hendriks, who was a teammate of Donaldson’s with the Blue Jays in 2015, said gamers on other groups have had identical ordeals with him when they shared a clubhouse.

Referring to Anderson, Hendricks included that the White Sox “have TA’s again in every little thing,” as evidenced by the benches clearing after Chicago catcher Yasmani Grandal jawed with Donaldson later in Saturday’s sport.
“I’m really content with Yaz’s choice to confront him at the plate,” Hendriks reported. “That displays just how robust this clubhouse is, that reveals the brotherhood in this clubhouse that we have heading on.”
Yankees manager Aaron Boone claimed Sunday that Donaldson satisfied with him and some Yankees teammates about the make any difference ahead of Sunday’s doubleheader, but Hendriks exposed that some of the White Sox reached out to Donaldson’s teammates, also.
“I know a couple of our fellas built absolutely sure that a couple of their fellas in their clubhouse realized accurately what was going on,” Hendriks said. “He understood damn well what he was doing and he intended it to be exactly what it was. He just didn’t intend the repercussions to be as swift and as thick as they were being.”
