About 180 golfers are envisioned to aspect in the Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) Captain’s Inaugural match, prepared to usher in Tunji Oladosu, as the new captain of the club. The event will operate from June 24 to 25, 2022.
The chairman of the inaugural committee, Idowu Salami, although unveiling the event in Ibadan, yesterday, mentioned the tournament would see a significant degree of interactions and networking in between creme de la creme of the modern society that are anticipated at the celebration.
He reported: “The inaugural event is generally organised to celebrate and usher in the captain of the Ibadan Golfing Club. When a new captain comes on board, it is in our tradition to rejoice him. And golfers all more than the nation are predicted to grace the situation.
“The arrival, registration, cocktail is billed for June 24, even though the tournament will snowball into closing ceremony and presentation of prizes on Saturday.
“The match will be an epoch-making event and gamers from Ikeja Golfing Club, Ikoyi Golf Club, IBB Golfing Club, Ibom Golfing Club, Ekiti Club and host of other folks are expected to participate in it.”
Salami also exposed that the new Captain of the Ibadan golf club, Oladosu, was nominated to finish the tenure of the late captain, Ola Ibironke, popularly known as ‘Dudu Heritage,’ who suddenly handed absent before the completion of his tenure.
He mentioned that the new economical calendar year for 2022/2023 tenure starts on April 1, 2022 and is envisioned to close on March 31, 2023.
Also talking on the party, Wale Osungbohun, the next vice captain of the club, stated the tournament will be full of fanfare, stating that the Ibadan Golfing Club is identified as a person of the major golfing golf equipment in Nigeria. Otunba Abimbola Davis is another member of the setting up committee.
