The unique Surprise Lady herself defended the DC Comics character as an LGBTQ icon.

But some trolls weren’t having it and slammed her for the photo. One wrote, “Wonder Female IS NOT A Tremendous HERO FOR GAYS!”
To that assertion, Carter responded: “You’re appropriate. She’s a superhero for bisexuals!”
Her reply also linked to a 2016 Polygon article in which comic guide writer Greg Rucka explained that Marvel Woman was without a doubt bisexual in his new story, “Wonder Lady: Yr A single.”
“I didn’t write Surprise Female, but if you want to argue that she is somehow not a queer or trans icon, then you are not paying consideration,” she explained in o tweet. “Every time somebody comes up to me and states that WW assisted them when they have been closeted, it reminds me how specific the part is.”
In yet another submit, the former beauty pageant titleholder shared a photo of herself as a young buck holding combating pose. She also joked that she “loves looking at all the enjoy from LGBTQ+ lovers now! Now here’s a person I simply call the “ready to battle your homophobic relatives” pose. Just kidding. (Or am I?) Haha! 😘.”
