Who realized Jayson Tatum and Nelly have been tight?
The moment the Celtics shut out Recreation 3 of the NBA Finals with a 116-110 win more than the Warriors on Wednesday, Tatum discovered how he’s been family pals with the rapper for many years.
“That’s my male. I’ve identified Nelly endlessly,” the Celtics forward, 24, told reporters immediately after ABC cameras captured him hugging Nelly, 47, on the courtroom following the match.
“Him & my mother went to significant faculty. He’s known my father,” stated Tatum, who finished Game 3 with 26 points, 9 assists and six rebounds. “St. Louis is as significant as this space, so we know just about every other. Nelly is arguably the most famed dude from St. Louis, until I can catch up.”
Tatum held his 4-12 months-old son Deuce whilst he caught up with Nelly, who sported a Celtics hat. The rapper sat courtside at TD Garden for the game and also wore Tatum’s No. jersey through his halftime effectiveness.
Tatum touched on his close ties to Nelly through his rookie 12 months in 2018, when he praised the rapper in a video clip with SLAM Journal.
“Nelly put St. Louis on the map… This is the legend of St. Louis,” he mentioned in the clip.
The Celtics at the moment lead the Warriors in the collection, 2-1, with Match 4 established for Friday evening in Boston.
