Alec John Such, founding member of Bon Jovi, dead at 70

NEW YORK — Alec John This kind of, the bassist and a founding member of Bon Jovi, has died. He was 70.

Jon Bon Jovi on Sunday introduced the death of John This kind of, the New Jersey rock band’s bassist from 1983 to 1994. No aspects on when or how John This kind of died ended up straight away accessible. A publicist for Bon Jovi didn’t promptly answer to messages.

“He was an unique,” Bon Jovi wrote in a article on Twitter. “As a founding member of Bon Jovi, Alec was integral to the development of the band.”

Bon Jovi credited John Such for bringing the band jointly, noting that he was a childhood close friend of drummer Tico Torres and brought guitarist and songwriter Richie Sambora to see the band carry out. John These types of had performed in a band referred to as the Concept with Sambora.

The Yonkers, New York-born John Such was a veteran figure in the thriving New Jersey music scene that helped spawn Bon Jovi. As manager of the Hunka Bunka Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey, John This kind of booked Jon Bon Jovi & The Wild Types just before signing up for the singer-songwriter’s band. He played with Bon Jovi as a result of the group’s heyday in the ’80s.

John These types of departed the band in 1994, when he was changed by bassist Hugh McDonald. He afterwards rejoined the band for its induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.

“When Jon Bon Jovi termed me up and asked me to be in his band several many years ago, I quickly understood how critical he was and he had a vision that he needed to bring us to,” claimed John These at the Hall of Fame induction. “And I am only also satisfied to have been a component of that vision.”
