TMZ seeks to block Johnny Depp from calling ex-employee to testify

TMZ filed an emergency movement in courtroom Tuesday to avoid Johnny Depp from contacting a previous personnel of the gossip web page to testify in the ongoing defamation trial from Amber Heard.

In accordance to the movement, TMZ is in search of to prevent Morgan Tremaine, who worked as a industry assignment supervisor, from testifying, Variety reported.

“TMZ promised this supply that it would preserve their confidentiality and would not disclose their name or other facts about them,” study the assertion from the outlet’s attorneys.

Depp’s authorized group indicated that they needed to connect with Tremaine — who provided TMZ with a movie of Depp, 58, yelling at Listened to, 36, and slamming cabinets — to the stand on Wednesday but declined to point out what line of questioning they would abide by.

Lawyers for TMZ argued that Tremaine experienced nothing at all to do with the video and that any testimony provided would be centered on “rumor and conjecture.”

TMZ also argued that underneath Virginia law, the identification of the resource must be guarded under the journalist’s privilege. The outlet says that Tremaine’s testimony is irrelevant in the trial.

Camille Vasquez — Depp’s lawyer — hinted in the course of her cross-assessment of Listened to that she leaked the video clip and TMZ experienced paid for it.

Listened to vehemently denied the claim.

Vasquez also claimed that Read was accountable for tipping off TMZ about finding a restraining order from Depp in 2016. Heard has also denied the allegation and mentioned it was Depp’s divorce law firm, Laura Wasser, who experienced shut connections at TMZ.
