Spinal Tap drummer Ric Parnell dead at 70

Ric Parnell, the British musician finest acknowledged for playing drummer Mick Shrimpton in the cult rock mockumentary “This Is Spinal Faucet,” has died.

Actor Harry Shearer, who starred in the movie with Parnell, shared the information on Sunday via Twitter, composing, “No one particular ever rocked harder.”

Parnell’s trigger of demise was not uncovered.

The London-born drummer was surrounded by a relatives of musicians. His grandfather Russ Carr was a new music hall artist and his father, Jack Parnell, served as the bandleader for “The Muppet Exhibit.”

Parnell played in a number of bands, which include Horse, Atomic Rooster, Nova and Stars. He claimed he declined invites to engage in in Journey and Whitesnake, but is credited with enjoying drums on Toni Basil’s music “Hey Mickey” in 1981.

But his large split arrived in 1984 when Parnell, along with actor-musicians Michael McKean, Christopher Guest and Shearer portrayed the fictional rock band Spinal Faucet on the big screen. The team grew to become a real act, releasing albums and even appearing on “Saturday Night time Dwell.”

Parnell also performed on content by actor Michael Des Barres, who remembered his collaborator on Twitter Monday.

“Some musicians are playing a role. Other folks are rock ‘n’ roll. Ric Parnell was the latter. The actual factor,” Barres wrote.
