Soccer star Ashley Cole details moment he thought was 'going to die' as armed robbers raided home

Retired soccer star Ashley Cole thorough the horrifying minute he imagined he was “going to die” as ruthless thugs raided his London residence whilst his girlfriend and their son hid in the closet.

A video of the previous Arsenal and Chelsea defender was played in Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday, in which he spoke about the terrifying raid on his south London household, the Guardian claimed.

In the video, Cole told police, “I was on my knees, waiting around to be killed … I’ll never ever see my children yet again.”

The soccer star-turned-mentor explained at minimum 4 males broke into his home on Jan. 21, 2020, soon just after he returned home from a recreation just after 9 p.m.

Sharon Canu — who shares two children with Cole — reported she grabbed their 6-year-previous son and ran into the closet as soon as she read strange noises outside the house their dwelling. Their 4-year-aged daughter stayed in the dwelling area with Cole, BBC Information noted.

It’s alleged the gang was armed with a sledgehammer and threatened to slice the ex-athlete’s fingers off with pliers during the raid.

“I was being brave, I did not want to demonstrate our daughter that I was afraid for our lives,” Cole explained, according to ITV Information.

Showing in courtroom on Tuesday, suspect Kurtis Dilks, 34, faces three charges of conspiracy to commit theft, four expenses of changing legal residence, a few prices of conspiracy to commit robbery, and two counts of robbery.

“I was getting courageous, I did not want to present our daughter that I was worried for our life.”

In the pre-recorded interview, Canu recalled observing Cole on his knees with his palms bound with thick cable ties at the rear of his back again.

Nine other men are also on demo for their alleged section in a sequence of “ruthlessly executed” burglaries, in accordance to BBC News.
