Max Scherzer is susceptible to the occasional outburst from the dugout at the house plate umpire on behalf of his fellow Mets pitchers, but that does not necessarily mean he’s all set to entirely overhaul the process for analyzing balls and strikes.
With “robo umps” now in use at several Triple-A ballparks this time, the 3-time Cy Young Award winner is hopeful the automated pitch-calling method is contained in scope if it ultimately is deployed in MLB.
Scherzer this 7 days spoke to Sporting activities+ about the concern.
What are your views on the likelihood of automatic balls and strikes in MLB in the not-far too-distant potential?
