LeSean McCoy is not a member of the Eric Bieniemy supporter club.
Bieniemy, the 52-yr-old offensive coordinator of the Chiefs, has been considered by the media to be a top rated NFL head coaching prospect but several cycles have occur and gone with out him landing a task.
McCoy, who played on the Chiefs in 2019, appeared on SiriusXM’s “I am Athlete Tonight” and blasted his previous coordinator.
“There’s a purpose why every single calendar year they maintain hyping him up to get a head coaching job, or an offensive coordinator position somewhere else, and he don’t get 1,” McCoy reported.
“He talks to gamers a specified way, and some players would choose it. I would not choose it. There is some questions I’m gonna question. Everyone’s accountable. It is not due to the fact he’s a black coach [that he’s not getting hired]. That’s not the purpose.”
McCoy ongoing, declaring that “no a single hires him due to the fact they know what variety of coach he definitely is.”
McCoy was running up on the deadline of the software when he released into this, so any elaboration will have to occur at a later time.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid was asked about the remarks from McCoy, whom he also coached for a number of decades on the Eagles, by reporters on Thursday.
“Sometimes it’s really hard on a veteran player,” Reid explained. “Maybe their efficiency amount isn’t what it utilized to be — and it is really hard to get [criticism] sometimes. [Bieniemy’s] going to force you to check out to increase what you have got. That is just one of his strengths.
“He’s no diverse than he is with you fellas. He’ll appear in and shoot you straight. Sometimes you want to hear it. Sometimes you never.”
Reid made it apparent that he has not lost his admiration for his former operating back again.
“I’m a major LeSean enthusiast,” Reid said. “In my eyes, he’s a foreseeable future Hall of Fame functioning again. If you seem at it statistically, he’s large. But he was not the youngest pup in the kennel right here. He was on the back aspect [of his career] — and at times that is tough to acquire.”
