It’s called “Harry’s Home,” but the significantly-expected new album by the hottest male pop star on the world — that would be, duh, Harry Models — performs more like “Harry’s Boudoir.”
Without a doubt, the sexy intimacy on Styles’ 3rd solo album would make you sense like you’re peeking by way of the bedroom door as the former A person Way heartthrob is putting it down with his recent flame, actress Olivia Wilde.
Yup, placing it down.
Proudly owning all of the hip-swerving swagger that manufactured “Watermelon Sugar” a No. 1 hit in 2020 and won Styles his first Grammy, the singer is a ball of falsetto friskiness at the beginning of “Harry Property.”
“Green eyes, fried rice, I could cook an egg on you/Late evening, game time, espresso on the stove/You are sweet ice cream, but you could use a flake or two/Blue bubblegum twisted about your tongue,” coos Kinds, grinding up agains a greasy bass line in his finest falsetto at the commencing of the album opener “Music for a Sushi Cafe.
Clearly, the trumpets are not the only things that are sexy on this jazz-kissed come-on. And whatever’s on the menu, you’ll just be like, “I’ll have what he’s obtaining.”
And Designs is having his way with you — and whoever you happen to be finding down with in any corner of your house — on his sexiest album to date.
The quite future observe, “Late Evening Speaking,” is manufactured for late-night time grooving — possibly of the horizontal wide variety — as Types floats atop a groove reminiscent of Dua Lipa’s “Levitating.”
And if you believed there were being jazz vibes on “Music for a Sushi Cafe,” Types even scats here. Indeed, scats. And he pulls it off.
Whilst the title of the album is a reference to the Joni Mitchell track “Harry’s Household/Centerpiece,” Steely Dan and, a lot more a short while ago, Jamiroquai (don't forget him?) are extra like Styles’ muses on songs these types of as “Grapejuice,” a summer-all set passionate bop, and “Daydreaming,” a best soul-pop soufflé that provides a sprint of the 5th Dimension into the blend.
Whilst the No. 1 solitary “As It Was” established the shimmying, shimmering phase for the album — with its ’80s pogo pop that has you breaking out your very best Molly Ringwald moves — the second 50 % of “Harry’s House” settles into dreamy, woozy balladry that will have you booing up — or receiving on Tinder to discover one.
When the album finishes with “Love of My Life” — which could not maybe be about anyone other than Wilde — Kinds appears positively smitten. Or superior yet, really like-stoned.
