NBA stars previous and existing weighed in on the large race to the movie board in between Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith on Tuesday’s “Inside the NBA” on TNT.
Through halftime of Sport 5 in the Mavericks-Suns Western Conference semifinals series, Barkley and Smith turned their chairs and raced to the board — an “Inside the NBA” staple which is beloved by supporters.
Barkley appeared to contact the board a millisecond in advance of Smith, and NBA Twitter went wild. The “NBA on TNT” Twitter account performed a poll to identify the winner, in which voters declared Barkley victorious by a landslide.
“YES!!! CHUCK Gained,” Lakers star LeBron James tweeted, introducing a No. 1 ribbon emoji. “Let’s go Chuck,” he wrote in a 2nd tweet, with a bunch of crying-laughing emojis.
NBA legend Bill Russell tweeted a smiling photograph of himself, though holding a thumbs-up, and declared his winner.
“Tie goes to the Chuckster,” Russell tweeted. “I Assurance it @NBAonTNT sorry @TheJetOnTNT.”
