Famous designer Bob Mackie will not be Keeping up with the Kardashians.
Mackie informed Amusement Weekly he was not amazed with Kim Kardashian carrying Marilyn Monroe’s iconic 1962 Jean Louis robe to the 2022 Fulfilled Gala.
Mackie, who labored as a fashion assistant to Jean Louis early in his career, had some choice terms for the reality star.
“I thought it was a major slip-up. [Marilyn] was a goddess. A ridiculous goddess, but a goddess. She was just fabulous. Nobody images like that. And it was carried out for her. It was designed for her. Nobody else really should be found in that gown,” he claimed.
Mackie, 82, would know – he drew the sketch for the style when he was only 23.
Even though Kim later improved into a replica of the well-known gown, which Monroe wore to serenade JFK with “Happy Birthday,” she commenced the night in the real thing, many thanks to Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! museum.
This is not the initial time the designer, who also developed famous kinds for Cher, has thrown shade at truth TV’s most loved family.
In 2021, he explained to Site 6, “The Kardashians are extremely interesting and some are downright wonderful, but they are just famed for getting famed.”
He ongoing: “You know, they designed a large amount of income, so I guess there’s anything to say about that. A couple of them truly have copied Cher’s outfits just line for line, beat for beat, which is fascinating. It is like, whatever. I did all those [designs] so many decades back that I do not worry about them becoming copied or nearly anything. It is kind of a compliment, genuinely.”
Even with 1 such Cher recreation transpiring at the 2015 Met Gala, it does not seem that he took Kim’s 2022 red carpet instant as a compliment.
