Andy “Fletch” Fletcher, a founding member of the English digital band Depeche Mode, is useless at 60.
The band took to their official Twitter account to announce the heartbreaking news Thursday.
“We are shocked and stuffed with mind-boggling unhappiness with the untimely passing of our expensive good friend, family member and bandmate Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher,” the assertion go through. “Fletch had a true coronary heart of gold and was usually there when you necessary assist, a lively conversation, a very good snicker or a chilly pint.”
They explained their “hearts are with his family” and questioned to give the spouse and children privacy throughout their time of grieving.
Formed in 1980, five-time Grammy-nominated Depeche Mode was produced by bandmates Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Fletcher in Basildon in the British isles. The band, in accordance to a 2009 Billboard attribute, had bought much more than 100 million records at the time, whilst reaching millions of people on tour and releasing 17 albums.
In 2020, the trio was inducted as a band into the Rock and Roll Corridor of Fame.
Supporters swiftly expressed reacted to the loss on Twitter.
