'Some Like it Hot' musical to open on Broadway this fall

The musical adaptation of the 1959 Billy Wilder film “Some Like It Hot” will officially open up this tumble soon after several delays thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Deadline.

The task is helmed by Broadway veteran Christian Borle who was beforehand solid in New York Town Center’s production of “Into the Woods,” but was changed by Neil Patrick Harris.

Borle will perform Joe/Josephine, a role originated by Tony Curtis in the movie, and will be joined by J. Harrison Ghee as Jerry/Daphne, which Jack Lemmon performed in the film.

Adrianna Hicks has been forged as Sugar, a job made renowned by Marilyn Monroe.

All three forged members have been with the demonstrate because the workshop stage and will see it shift to the Excellent White Way.

Other solid members contain Kevin Del Aguila, NaTasha Yvette Williams, Adam Heller and Mark Lotito. Other solid members have nevertheless to be introduced.

The musical will characteristic a book by Tony Award winner Matthew López and Amber Ruffin with audio and lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman and directed by Casey Nicholaw.

Producers of the musical introduced that the demonstrate will start previews on November 1, 2022, with an official opening evening of December 11, 2022, at the Shubert Theatre. The present was originally intended to make its debut in Chicago but was canceled thanks to COVID-19.
