NFL investigator talks to Browns about Hue Jackson tanking claims

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns have spoken to an NFL investigator hunting into claims by former mentor Hue Jackson, who stated the workforce intentionally missing video games — tanked — in the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

Jackson, now coaching at Grambling Point out, was fired by Browns house owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam 8 online games into the 2018 time with a 3-36-1 document.

In February, Jackson indicated in a sequence of posts on social media that the crew compensated him bonuses incentivizing him to lose and that he was set up to fall short. Jackson afterwards softened those promises.

The Browns went 1-15 in 2016 and -16 in 2017.

Spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed the league engaged former Securities and Trade Fee chair Mary Jo White to look into Jackson’s allegations.

“The overview is ongoing and is envisioned to conclude soon,” McCarthy mentioned in an e mail to The Related Press.

The group released a assertion Monday night, expressing it has worked with the league on its inquiry.

“Even even though Hue recanted his allegations a quick time immediately after they had been created, it was critical to us and to the integrity of the match to have an unbiased assessment of the allegations,” group spokesman Peter Jean-Baptiste reported. “We welcomed an investigation and we are assured the final results will display, as we’ve earlier mentioned, that these allegations are categorically false.

“We have cooperated with Mary Jo White and glance ahead to the conclusions.”
