Mike Krzyzewski's grandson Michael Savarino enters transfer portal

Michael Savarino, grandson of not long ago retired Duke legend Mike Krzyzewski, has entered the transfer portal.

This past time, as a junior, Savarino averaged 2.3 minutes and 1.1 points in 11 games. Presumably, he is searching for prospects in other places to decide up some additional taking part in time for his senior year of eligibility.

Jeff Goodman of Stadium was the first to report that Savarino is transferring out of the Duke plan.

In November, Savarino was cited for DWI. Duke star Paolo Banchero was in the auto and cited for aiding and abetting DWI.

Savarino was suspended for about a thirty day period.

“We suspended him and punished him,” Krzyzewski said when his grandson returned to the court. “We didn’t set him out and have him flogged in front of all people, and he however has points to do, legally, but that is all currently being done the suitable way. Just for kids in school, the university and software, we should really serve as an umbrella that beneath that umbrella they have the opportunity to mature.

“Obviously we do not condone what occurred. There are a good deal of items that come about to kids on campus that we would not condone, but it occurs. You really do not offer them down the river. The only way you get much better is by acknowledging that you did some thing erroneous, accepting the punishment and mastering from it.”
