Jameson Williams an option for WR-needy Jets

As part of The Post’s 2022 NFL Draft preview, we look at what the Jets might do at each place. Now: Large receivers Following up: Tight finishes.

It feels like a certainty the Jets will draft a broad receiver early except Joe Douglas can swing a trade right before the draft comes.

Douglas took a huge swing at Tyreek Hill previous month but did not join, and now Hill is with the Dolphins. But Douglas showed how much the Jets want to get a weapon for Zach Wilson just by remaining in the conversation for Hill. He also explored other selections on the trade block such as Amari Cooper and D.K. Metcalf.

The Jets could use a person of their two initial-spherical picks on a receiver. USC’s Drake London and Ohio State’s Garrett Wilson are considered to be the prime receivers by most draftniks. It certainly feels like the Jets could draft just one of them at No. 10, and it's possible even with the No. 4 general choose. The Jets have not drafted a extensive receiver in the initially spherical given that Santana Moss in 2001.

A wild card in the first spherical is Alabama star Jameson Williams, who would have been the No. 1 receiver in this class if he had not torn the ACL in his still left knee in the countrywide championship recreation. Now, the question is how client will a group be that drafts Williams. Can it hold out for him to be completely ready to perform at midseason and probably not have an impact right up until 12 months 2?

The Jets really don't experience like a workforce that can wait on their first-round picks to make an impact, so Williams feels unlikely for them, but it is likely to be an attention-grabbing determination for Douglas.
