Animated flick 'The Bad Guys' tops Skarsgard, Cage at box office

The newest massive-screen generation of DreamWorks Animation topped opening night time totals for new flicks from star actors Alexander Skarsgard and Nicolas Cage.

“The Poor Guys” — an animated romp about 5 above-the-hill anthropomorphic criminals — raked in $8 million in ticket profits on April 22, its 1st day in theaters.

Skarsgard’s Viking revenge tale “The Northman,” meanwhile, came in at range two at the box office, earning $5 million.

“Sonic the Hedgehog 2” acquired $4 million on Friday, when Cage’s “The Unbearable Weight of Substantial Talent” — in which he performs a fictionalized edition of himself — rounded out the major five box place of work performers at $2.9 million.
