Aaliyah Gayles, USC commit, shot at Las Vegas house party

Aaliyah Gayles, a highly touted women’s basketball recruit for USC and a McDonald’s All-American, was shot at a home social gathering in Las Vegas around the weekend.

The Las Vegas Overview-Journal experiences that 4 people had been shot at the party late Saturday night.

Gayles, 18, reportedly underwent two crisis surgical procedures. She was not shot in the head or torso spot.

A guard ranked eighth in ESPN’s class of 2022, Gayles averaged 13.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.3 helps in the 2021-22 time.

“I know there is some that will say it is my fault and I take comprehensive accountability for it but be sure to be sure to hold my little one female in your prayers Las Vegas,” Gayles’ father, Dwight, tweeted. “I will give anyone that assist Aaliyah an update but she’s okay she go make it like normally thank you all, accurate warrior.”

USC mentor Lindsay Gottlieb confirmed the information of the capturing to ESPN.

“Aaliyah is one of the strongest, most resilient young individuals I have ever recognized,” Gottlieb stated. “I have no doubt she will go on to experience this unfathomable problem with bravery and resolve. We will continue to aid her and her parents in every single way that we probably can.”
