’80s time capsule home in suburban Chicago sells for $700K

Mirror mirror on the wall, is this property the most retro of them all?

In the Chicago suburbs, a 4,256-square-foot home replete with mirrors on practically each floor — most prominently in its highly reflective kitchen area — has sold, The Article has figured out.

Positioned at 4 Cambridge Travel in Oak Brook, this 1979-crafted distribute — which took a ten years to embellish and however oozes a properly-preserved 1980s look — traded hands for $699,000, according to Real estate agent.com.

The four- to five-bed room dwelling stated in March for $733,000 and, as explained in its advertising, was an estate sale.

Other photographs display a staircase with ornamental lucite and reflective gold ornaments, as perfectly as other non-reflective walls painted white, an all-white living place with a fireplace and even inside palm trees.

The homeowners, determined as Frank and Gloria, experienced distinctive hobbies. Frank savored automobiles — and the listing photos also show a significant garage — and Gloria relished dressing her household. “When Gloria acquired the itch to decorate she’d make a decision which room she needed to renovate, she’d choose a theme, she’d contact her Interior Decorator, Irv Caplan, and off they’d go to the Items Mart to make Gloria’s eyesight come to everyday living,” Di Valerio additional. “If Gloria and Irv couldn’t locate just what they wanted, they would have furnishings and artwork pieces custom made to complete the room.”

As for the home’s other information, it stands on a .57-acre great deal with a front porch. The foyer reaches two tales significant, there’s a laundry home, a lifted dressing place in the learn bed room and a sunken tub in its toilet, and closets through. Outside the house, the deep-whole lot yard arrives dotted with trees. Nearby stands a patio with space for lounge seating.
